TBC is coordinating a three year project starting in October 2019 to reinforce the resilience of displaced and conflict-affected Karen, Karenni and Mon communities through agricultural extension, nutrition promotion and social protection.

We are now URGENTLY seeking candidates with high caliber for the following positions to join us and contribute towards the resilience of conflict-affected communities:

Position (Work Base)

Agriculture Officer (based in either Loikaw or Hpaan)

Public Health Officer (based in either Loikaw or Hpaan)

Job Purpose

The Agriculture Officer works under the supervision and technical guidance of TBC’s Capacity Building Coordinator and day-to-day management by TBC’s Field Manager.

 

The Agriculture Officer will support and monitor civil society organisations (CSOs) to increase the productivity and sustainability of agricultural practices in upland communities.

The Public Health Officer works under the supervision of TBC’s Capacity Building Coordinator, with technical guidance from TBC’s Food Security and Nutrition Specialist and day-to-day management from TBC’s Field Manager.

The Public Health Officer will support and monitor ethnic health organisations (EHOs) and civil society organisations (CSOs) to promote improved nutrition, sanitation and hygiene practices in remote communities.

Qualifications

- Diploma in agriculture, agronomy, agroforestry or a related field preferred.

- 2 years in humanitarian or development field work

- Efficient in the following skills:-

       - Sustainable agriculture

       - Natural resource management

       - Training & coaching

       - Monitoring & evaluation preferred

- Myanmar, English & either Karen, Karenni or Mon languages preferred

- Diploma in public health, nutrition, environmental hygiene or a related field preferred

- 2 years in humanitarian or development field work

- Efficient in the following skills:-

       - Nutrition awareness & promotion

       - Water and sanitation management

       - Training & coaching

       - Monitoring & evaluation preferred

- Myanmar, English & either Karen, Karenni or Mon languages preferred
